Your deadline
General information, not legal advice. Rules can change and local exceptions may apply. Check the official source before relying on a deadline.
Deadline questions, answered.
Does the clock always start on move-out day?
No. The trigger depends on the location. Texas uses surrender of the premises, England and Wales uses the day the deposit was received for protection, and an agreed UK return uses the day both sides agree the amount.
Are these business days or calendar days?
Every deadline currently included in this calculator uses calendar days. If a local rule or your agreement adds another requirement, follow that too.
Why are only some states included?
Deposit rules and exceptions vary widely. RentSeal only shows locations whose rule and official source have been checked. More locations can be added as they are verified.
Is the calculated date legal advice?
No. It is general information based on the cited rule. Your lease, property type and local law may change the answer.
