RentSeal preserves records. It does not decide what they prove.
1. Introduction
These Terms of Service apply when you use the RentSeal website and rental-documentation service. They describe the product's purpose, your responsibilities and the limits of the service.
If you do not agree to these terms, do not use RentSeal.
2. Using RentSeal
RentSeal lets you create a record for a rental, organise photos and documents, note damage and issues, compare move-in and move-out evidence, and generate or share an Evidence Pack.
You decide what to record and are responsible for checking that the information you add is accurate, relevant and lawful to keep.
3. Account and security
Access uses the email account connected to your RentSeal account and a single-use code emailed to it. Keep access to that email and your devices secure, sign out on shared devices, and do not give another person your sign-in code.
Private account and rental data is available only after RentSeal verifies the active session and record owner. Public share links are a separate, limited form of access described below.
4. Rental records and evidence
Evidence may be captured with a device or imported from an existing file. RentSeal records the original file, a checksum, the time received by the service and other available metadata. Device capture times and user descriptions are recorded as supplied; RentSeal does not independently verify that they are correct.
Before-and-after pairs show two selected records together. RentSeal does not infer wear, responsibility, cause or liability from a comparison.
5. Sealed records
Sealing records a completion time, the acting account and a record identifier. Evidence associated with the sealed inspection is protected from silent update or deletion through normal product and direct account data paths.
New information can be attached later as a separately timestamped addendum. A seal is a RentSeal product control—not certification, notarisation or a finding by a court, agency, landlord or other legal authority.
6. Rental Protection
One payment. One rental. Rental Protection currently costs $24.99 USD, or the local price shown before checkout where RentSeal offers one (£19.99 in sterling, €21.99 in euros), as a one-time payment for one rental or lease. You pay the price shown at checkout. It is not a subscription.
Rental Protection enables the paid record features for that rental after Stripe confirms a successful payment to RentSeal. It is designed for a lease of up to 36 months. RentSeal does not delete records automatically, during or after the lease. If that changes, you will be told in advance, with time to export your record, before anything is deleted.
Rental Protection helps preserve and organise documentation. It does not insure a deposit, guarantee recovery, pay a claim or promise any dispute outcome.
7. Payments
Payment is completed through Stripe Checkout. Paid access is activated only after RentSeal receives and verifies the successful live payment event. Reaching a return or confirmation page by itself does not activate access.
A failed, incomplete or cancelled payment does not activate Rental Protection. A refunded payment or payment dispute may revoke the related entitlement. Nothing in these terms removes any mandatory consumer rights that apply to you.
14-day refund
14-day refund. If Rental Protection is not useful to you, email support@rentseal.app within 14 days of the payment and we refund it in full. You do not have to give a reason.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method through Stripe and normally reach it within five to ten business days, depending on your bank. Refunding a payment revokes the Rental Protection entitlement it activated: the rental returns to the free plan and keeps the evidence already stored, subject to the free plan's limits.
This refund offer is provided in addition to, and does not limit, any statutory right of withdrawal or other mandatory consumer right that applies to you.
9. Acceptable use
Use RentSeal only for lawful rental documentation. Do not upload material you have no right to keep or share, attempt to access another person's account or records, interfere with security controls, distribute malicious files, or use the service to harass or mislead.
10. Ownership and permissions
You remain responsible for the photos, documents and information you upload and for having the permissions needed to use them. Uploading material does not give you rights in content that belongs to someone else.
The RentSeal name, logo, interface and service software remain part of the RentSeal product. These terms do not transfer ownership of the product or its branding.
11. Service availability
RentSeal is an online service and may occasionally be unavailable because of maintenance, updates, network conditions or provider interruptions. Use Account export to keep your own copy when you need an independent archive.
12. Limits of the service
How a record is treated depends on its contents, the surrounding facts, the rental agreement and applicable law. Seek an appropriate qualified adviser if you need legal guidance.
13. Account deletion
Account settings provide deletion controls. Accounts with sealed records currently require support assistance, and self-service deletion stops before removing any files. Contact support@rentseal.app for help. A completed deletion removes the account's private evidence, documents and generated reports before the account is deleted. Export anything you need first.
14. Changes to these terms
RentSeal may update these terms as the product or its legal requirements change. The current version and its update date will be published on this page. Review the current terms before relying on a feature or making a new purchase.
